Photos on Paper
Alison's photographs that are printed on high quality photographic paper have a matte surface and are printed by a process which provides exceptional clarity, color depth, and longevity. With a long life span of over 70 years, photographs will maintain their color when framed under glass and displayed away from bright light and high humidity.

Photos are handsigned by Alison in archival metallic ink and an information label is included that can be adhered to the back of your photo's framing.

Matted and Framed Photographs
Most photographs in smaller sizes may be ordered mounted on a stiff backing, with matting that complements the image and makes the print ready for framing, usually in standard frame sizes, making it easier and more affordable to find a frame for your photo.

Matted prints are cold mounted with a non-toxic, dry adhesive on acid-free backing, and are matted with a high quality acid-free mat board. This mat board provides a very long-lasting white core and surface color as well as protection for the photograph.

Photographs with matting usually come with two mats in colors complementary to the photo--a darker liner (inner) mat and a lighter top (outer) mat. Sometimes (or by request), an extra thick, all white mat may be used.

Matted photographs are hand titled on the mat (unless otherwise requested), come with an informational label on the back, and are sleeved in clear plastic for protection.

Some smaller mounted and matted photographs are also offered with frames. There are many frame styles available, so it's difficult to describe them all on this site. If you order a framed photo, Alison will contact you to discuss frame options. Or, email Alison with your custom matting or framing requests. Framed photos are wired and ready for hanging. If a custom frame is desired (a style that we do not have in stock), the cost of the framed photo may be higher than the standard price on this site.
